JOURNAL

Kimmy Hogan x Elizabeth Bell.

I first met Libby when I enrolled in one of her clay term classes a few years ago... and the idea of collaborating with her has been in my mind since.

We are so pleased to have launched our new ceramics range - a collection of gorgeous and fun platters and plates. The idea was to bring something special into the everyday - a piece of handmade art that will elevate that special occassion, or simply be a gift-to-self to enjoy whenever you like.

All the plates were expertly made and shaped by hand by Elizabeth, before being individually hand painted by me. I enjoyed painting my signature free-flowing botanical shapes in my favourite gold, rust and pink palette.

Art and clay have come together to create this beautiful magic. Elizabeth is a much-loved local Geelong ceramicist and it’s been an absolute pleasure to work with her to bring this dream to life.

Elizabeth pressed out slabs of clay before cutting and shaping each plate.

Drawings were done in pencil on the plate first, before carefully hand painting over them.

Ceramics were then fired at 1280deg.

The finished result.

A labour of love... a passion project... a dream come true. We can't wait to work together again in future!

Visit Elizabeth Bell's website for her personal offering of beautiful ceramics as well as clay workshops.
