Prompts for a Gentle New Year Reset.

This year I’m finding joy in tweaking little habits and building joy - brick by brick.

I wanted to share this as a reminder that you don’t need a big, scary New Year resolution to begin again. For me, gentle shifts feel far more achievable, and often more meaningful. I hope this inspires you to notice the small tweaks you can make in your own life to brighten your everyday.

MICRO-RITUALS.

Think of my intentions for the day when making my morning coffee. I recommend buying one (or several) special hand-made ceramic pieces as a gift to self. It makes every morning a treat. This one is from Emicorn Pottery.

Splurge on the 'nice' herbal tea (that is organic and plastic-free).

Candles at dinner time at least once per week.

Make reading the last thing I do every night, even just one page.

NOURISHMENT.

Quality inward - for mind and body.

No opening any work/social apps until after school drop.

Unsubscribe or unfollow news or accounts that aren't of value.

Fill the fridge and pantry with healthy snacking foods.

Plan regular nutrient-dense meals (and make the kids' version easy).

Still enjoy my favourite treats often!

MOVEMENT.

Move everyday - whether it's a walk, stretch or pilates session at home - just make it a treat, and let the kids join in if they want.

Tennis lessons - just for fun. I've never played before - wish me luck.

GROWTH.

Listen to educational and insighful podcasts and audio books.

Loan out giant art picture books from the local library. I currently have a Gauguin book on loan - pure goodness.

HAVEN.

Declutter, cull ruthlessly, donate to charity.

Rearrange artwork to different rooms to make a space feel new.

Print and display my favourite photos - so they don't just live on my phone.

Pick one stress-area/cupboard/drawer to reorganise.

I hope my little shifts inspire you to implement some small-but-beautiful changes in your everyday life. Happy new year friends, and thank you again for being here.
