Kimmy Hogan x Frankie Gusti.
When the universe hands you a cherry-scented-star-crossed-lovers-meets-bougie-cocktail brief… you have to respond. Frankie Gusti invited me to craft a bespoke artwork that would become the visual heartbeat of their new fragrance, “Young Hearts.”
The scent:
{Sultry Black Cherry entwines with Bitter Almond, Velvety Rose + Jasmine Sambac, layered with Sweet Plum, Patchouli and Smoky Tonka Bean.}
I leaned into this feminine, romantic vibe with swans, bows, stars, wine, cherries and a luxurious palette.
My artwork always start in the pages of my journal. I explored an array of illustrations with paint and ink to capture the handmade gestures for a romantic touch.
I explored a variety of motifs in many formations. Repetition of the drawings allowed me to capture the most fluid and natural version.
From paper to screen - my illustrations were scanned at high resolution where my digital skills then came into play.
I drenched the illustrations colour and weaved in natural hand-made textures. I left all the fluid, imperfect wobbles of the original illustrations in tact.
Several concepts were explored and presented for Frankie Gusti to ensure a perfect match for their vision.
I loved exploring this new concept and bold palette - pushing my art into unchartered realms. I'm thrilled with the finished product!
