There’s something endlessly captivating about dahlias to me - their fullness, their colour, the almost impossible layers of petals unfolding in every direction.

I found myself chasing the balance between delicacy and wildness - trying to capture the way florals in nature can feel both soft and untamed at once. I wanted these pieces to feel abundant and overflowing.

Just like in nature, I let the lines wander freely. Layers upon layers of ink drawing, texture and colour became part of the process.

I create countless test prints throughout the process - refining the scale of my handmade textures and brushstrokes, and carefully balancing each colour so the collection has the right amount of harmony and contrast.

I also wanted to bring in a sense of unexpected contrast and playfulness - bold stripes, checkerboard pattern, whimsical details and little moments of magic woven throughout. A still life, but with a twist.
